Shed's Kitchen Trio is Ed McGrath (guitar and vocals), Shawn Leary (guitar and vocals), and Smilin Ed Kramer (banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and dobro). Shed's kitchen trio is an acoustic rock / bluegrass band from the Bucks/Mont area. The band formed in 2018 when Ed McGrath and Shawn Leary would play every Thursday night at an open mic that Ed hosted. Smiling Ed started coming in regularly with his banjo, and they would hang out late into the night and jam. It turns out that Smilin Ed not only played banjo, but also plays almost anything with strings. Shawn and Ed knew a bunch of Grateful Dead tunes and Smilin Ed knew a whole catalog of bluegrass music, so we blended together nicely. Currently their sets consist of a mixture of rock including Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, etc - and bluegrass, especially Old And In The Way (the the Garcia connection). They put their own spin on the tunes and they love to jam. Their heartfelt vocals and conversational instrumentals add up to a sound all their own. Their main goal is always to have fun and that spreads from the band to the audience.
