Formed in 2023 by Mike Coyne, Star Coyne, and Kenny Quinones, Beggar's Pay is a high energy Grateful Dead tribute laying down the core of the band with drums, bass, and a vocalist in addition to rhythm guitarist Gianni Iacovino, who had played with Mike at a handful of Chinacat Jubilee gigs. Gianni recommended that they give Gabe Lipko the spot of keyboardist to round out the core group. Beggar's Pay uses a rotation of lead guitar players such as Mark Diomede from Juggling Suns and Be5D, Pete Tonti from ONe Eyed Jack, VInce Merlino from The Notion, Chris Waddell from Chinacat Jubilee and Mark Kapel from Gratefulmen, ensuring a new experience at each show while continuing to pay tribute to the band that started it all!
